The version number of CandyPress may be utilized to determine the impact on prior releases.
Each distribution also includes a read me file, readme.htm, which addresses the changes that have
occurred in the current release.
Example: Major.Minor.Build.Revision CP5.1.1.5
Major
Functionality has changed - will not work with prior version database w/o modification. Normally will require a separate install with movement / conversion of data.
Minor
Features and / or functionality have been added - will work with prior version database and code. You should be able to overlay the distribution files without harm.
Build
Installation metrics have changed will work with prior version of database and code.
Revision
Fixes and patches to existing files have been made will work with prior version.
It is your responsibility to backup the distribution you install. Prior
versions will not be made available.
